Marvel's The Punisher: "Virtue of the Vicious" Review - IGN

“Virtue of the Vicious” was close to a “Frank-less” episode. Most of the story was about how others perceive him. The series suffers when Frank and David aren’t around. Many of the supporting cast members are strong on their own, but they aren’t the foundation that holds the show together. It would have been nice to get David’s perspective on all of the hotel madness, even though he wasn’t there. With only three episodes remaining, there’s sure to be plenty of Frank and David coming up.

How to avoid package theft this holiday season

For a less permanent option, consider a battery-powered security camera. Models like the weatherproof Netgear Arlo Pro 2 can withstand the elements (like the Nest Cam Outdoor), but they are much more mobile. Use one inside to keep an eye on your pet one day and move it outside when you're expecting a package delivery another day. Like the SkyBell HD, Netgear's indoor/outdoor Arlo cameras offer free seven-day event-based cloud storage. And when its battery is low, just recharge it with Netgear's included charger.

Serverless but not stress-free: enterprise computing moves outside the enterprise | ZDNet

Panelists also discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence in enterprise shops. In the rush to AI, many organizations risk adopting processes that work against privacy and security. "There's a dark side to AI and we're going be hearing a lot about this in the future," said Debra Danielson, distinguished engineer and senior VP for CA. "The core issue here is that we're learning in our machine learning systems to recognize patterns outside of historical data, and the problem is some of those patterns contain bias and bad behavior and we're at risk of having that bad behavior and bias driven and magnified into our systems. We really are going have to watch out for this and make sure that we don't allow our AI to be driven by our history and not by our values."

Here's another door-in-door fridge. I hope it's the last.

Sizewise, this is a fairly roomy refrigerator. Inside, you'll find a total of 27.8 cubic feet of storage space, 18.6 of which are allocated to the fridge. Similar-size French door models with ice dispensers from brands like Whirlpool, LG, and Samsung all retail for at least $2,700 or so even before you start adding in door-in-door compartments, so at $3,100, I wouldn't say that the GFD28GELDS is unfairly priced for what it offers.

A bass lover’s ear bud, the FiiO F9

It's certainly not the sort of headphone that shines with all genres, the F9 wouldn't be my first choice for classical and acoustic jazz, or any recordings with pitched-up treble -- they sounded harsh with the F9, the E3000 is a smoother alternative. The F9 was a pleasure to listen to with well-recorded music, the sound was positively vivid, lively, and fun. The bass was terrific, and there was lots of it, but it was well-behaved and tuneful.

Firefox Quantum Isn’t Just “Copying” Chrome: It’s Much More Powerful

If an add-on you depend on no longer functions, that sucks. And we feel for you. But that doesn’t mean Firefox Quantum has just become a Chrome clone. Firefox still offers many advanced features Chrome doesn’t, and probably never will. Better yet, it offers that power while finally competing with Chrome on speed. It’s already looking faster than Chrome on some tests, and it may even pull decisively ahead of Chrome in future releases. That sounds like a win-win.

11 times brands were the greatest trolls on Twitter in 2017

Traveling for the holidays? How to leave your smart home home alone

If you have a smart thermostat, most will detect that you're away and offer a way to change the thermostat remotely. After all, that's probably why you bought the thing in the first place. It's a nice perk when you're out for a few hours or a workday. For longer periods of time or for thermostats that include a vacation mode, it's a good idea to check the threshold settings before an extended absence. Sure, you can adjust remotely, but the whole idea here is to set it and go. So before you leave, set the temperature ranges on your thermostat so you can save money while keeping your home safe.

17 Essential Mail Tips and Tricks for iPhone in GIFs

Mail was one of the apps Steve Jobs demoed at iPhone’s keynote back in 2007. And it has enough features (hidden and otherwise) for it to be your default email client and it can hold a candle against third party clients . How White Nationalism Courts Internet Nerd Culture – DEO – Medium

Another key strategy in white supremacist recruitment are online communities that warmly welcoming in new members, once lured into such a group the recruit is given a surge of support, validation, and esteem boosting. The new members are told they belong, that they may not fit in real life social cliques but that they fit into this group, and that the other group members care about them. Hours will be invested in grooming the new recruit, befriending and talking with them. Active chats are appealing to those who are bored and isolated and only want some human contact but have trouble getting it elsewhere due to social awkwardness. The white supremacist group offers a sense of community and belonging and slowly cultivates in the recruit into a sense of loyalty towards the group. For those desperate for friendship or to feel included this is an incredibly potent lure. These groups can have darker tactics as well, with leaders telling their members that they cannot leave or return to people outside of the group. Many reasons are given but most commonly this inability to leave is posed as there being some boogeyman outsider, like “SJWs”, will eventually toss them out, bully them, ostracize them, or attack them.
