How to make CISOs comfortable with cloud security

"It makes a lot more sense for CISOs to be spending time and effort building a strong security team, and educating developers on secure cloud processes, than spending all their time governing and monitoring providers," Kirilenko said. "They're going to get better results if they spend effort on building that strong security team, easing the implementation of cloud security for developers who right now are actually going around security. Often times they don't correctly implement cloud security, and this increases the risk of using their cloud vendor."

South Korea's IoT in full swing: From water meters to AI-powered smart buildings | ZDNet

Gochang is a relatively small, rural county in South Korea in North Jeolla Province, 260 kilometres south of the capital Seoul. It borders the Yellow Sea to its west with a 70-kilometre coastal line, and, by all accounts, it's quite a sight. The county has a very small population of just 58,181 as of March 2018, according to the Ministry of Interior, in an area of 606.90 square kilometres. That's a slightly larger area than Seoul, which has a population of 9.86 million as of 2017 or around 20 percent of the country's 50 million.

Uber's fatal self-driving crash reportedly caused by software

The software is supposed to ignore what are known as "false positives," or objects that wouldn't be an issue for the vehicle, like a plastic bag or piece of paper. Company executives told The Information that they believe the system was tuned in a way that made it react less to these objects -- meaning it reportedly didn't react fast enough when the pedestrian crossed the street.

Tech watchdogs call on Facebook and Google for transparency around censored content

If a company like Facebook can’t even understand why its moderation tools work the way they do, then its users certainly don’t have a fighting shot. Microsoft’s new IntelliCode is a smarter IntelliSense

Microsoft tells me that the feature works by understanding the context of the code you are currently working on. Thanks to a machine learning model that has been trained by looking at lots of code, the tool can understand what you’re trying to achieve and then (hopefully) make the right suggestions based on the context and patterns in your own code.

4 women-owned companies making the sex tech industry more approachable

Says Goicochea: "When you look at the orgasm gap, women often have to go to a sex shop to get a toy...That's a really uncomfortable experience, it's over-assorted, it's confusing, you don't really have any options that are minimal. Everything's quite bright and loud. And we were like, this is an absolute must-have for many people in order to have an orgasm, so why isn't it created and treated like an essential?"

Mattis urges anti-China measure to be included in U.S. defence bill

How mutual masturbation can help close the orgasm gap

Savage believes that straight couples should take a leaf out of gay people's books when it comes to bringing mutual masturbation into the bedroom: "A lot of the sex that gay people have is mutual masturbation, which a lot of straight people — guys in particular — don’t think counts as sex, or is some sort of tragic consolation prize." Savage says we need to reframe the way we view the concept of mutual masturbation, and see it as "the main event" rather than "a pity-not-fuck." "If straight people approach mutual masturbation as a rich and rewarding form of sexual expression it would improve their sex lives so much," says Savage.
