Since the U.S. government has a ridiculously high tax on gas, they make more profit by keeping the price of gas as high as possible. We could quit transferring our wealth to the Saudis and get all the oil we need for the next 250 years on U.S. soil. But no, the government has to keep record profit gas companies propped up and fill their own "need for greed."
