The idea behind my Graduate Project is to apply techniques common among many successful entrepreneurs. While progressing through the IEM Program at UAB one thing that has mentioned repeatedly is the power of a strong personal network. A strong personal network can open the doors of opportunity for new employment or aid in starting up a company. One could reason that an entrepreneur without a good personal network is not an entrepreneur at all.
With personal networking being such an important concept to the success of an entrepreneur I also believe that the same concepts can be applied to web based social networks to leverage the power of the web to rapidly launch a successful web based start up with little to no funding required for marketing.
My goal for my graduate project will be to deliver a written document detailing the techniques used to grow a website's traffic from 0 visitors to 500k visitors per month in a 6 month period with minimal expenses.

To track my progress I will publish my weekly statistics along with the tasks that were performed that week to reach the results. At the end of each month I will publish my overall monthly statistics and will include commentary on the months results with a section to reflect on the successes and failures of the month and a plan for the up coming month.
